The key results of the SEPLS survey indicated that the main concerns in the community were recurrent floods and landslides, the deforestation and adverse environmental effects of slash and burn agriculture, the loss of agricultural biodiversity and the sharp decline in agriculture productivity in cereals and vegetables.
These concerns shaped the COMDEKS strategy in Nepal, which is a community based approach to maintaining, restoring, and revitalizing sustainable socio-ecological production in the selected landscape
