New video on COMDEKS activities in the Bogo region produced by SGP Cameroon

Within the ex-post landscape assessment, SGP Cameroon developed this video to provide an overview of COMDEKS-supported initiatives and their results since the approval of the landscape strategy for the Bogo region in 2013. The Bogo region has been severely affected by desertification in recent years, resulting in lower agricultural production and loss of grazing land, which have threatened local livelihoods. Nine community-based projects have been supported to rehabilitate the watershed and promote sustainable farming techniques, gender inclusion and ecosystem conservation as a foundation for increasing income-generating activities. To sustain food security and crop revenues in the changing climate, quality seeds of different varieties of onions, maize, and sorghum resistant to climate change were provided to farmers, and training on post-harvest technologies of agricultural products was promoted in the Bogo landscape.

The video includes partner and community testimonials and images of these community-led initiatives, including afforestation efforts; promotion of agrobiodiversity and sustainable agriculture for income generation and improved local food security; support for biocoal and improved cook stove production; and establishment of solar water pumps improving community access to potable water.
